BPSU to host PUBL games

BATAAN Peninsula State University, headed by Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis, will host the Philippine University Basketball League (PUBL) games this weekend.

Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) president Edwin C. Fabro and chairman Alvin Tai Lian welcome the decision of Bataan Peninsula State University to host the tournament.

“We’re happy and ready for the opportunity to host the tournament in our school thru our school officials headed by Mam Roman.” said Romeo Nisay, BPSU sport director.

Bataan Peninsula State University will host the last day of the last day of elimination round on Saturday then the semifinals game on Sunday in this six team tournament organized by PUBL in cooperation with FESSAP and Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP).

BPSU will battle NCAA squad Mapua University in the first game at 1: p.m., Technological University of the Philippines will face Asian Institute of Maritime Studies in the second game at 2:30 p.m. and undefeated Philippine Christian University (PCU) will square off with University of Perpertual Help Dalta System in the main game at 4:30 p.m.

The Stallions (1-3) of coach Randy Rodriguez and lead by John Carlos Valerio Isaiah De Leon and Janzel Red Gatdula will need to beat the Cardinals to keep their hopes alive for final four.

The Cardinals (3-1) of coach Ernani Epondulan and Lito Aguilar will lean on Kobe Dalisay, Clint Escamis, Mark Cuenco and Resty Fornis

The 1-3 Grayhawks, mentored by coach Arlene Rodriguez, are also hoping to clinch the last semifinal spot. They will rely on Daniel Magbanua, Geramiel Abejuela and Karl Bringas.

The Bluesharks of coach Amante Flores are seeking their first win to end their campaign in a high note.

Handled by former PBA stand-out Oscar Simon and sports coordinator Martha Beata Ijiran, the Dolphins will rely on Mark Edison Ordonez, Jaddie Antonio Edward Veloso, Lionel Failon and Jhon Lloyd Balvarin.

The Altas (3-1) of coach Mike Saguiguit and assistant coach Stephen Mopera, will parade Jielo Razon, Cyrus Nitura and Mark Omega. AA
