Boy, 15, with gun falls in Malabon police chase

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy who allegedly barged inside the barracks of construction workers and carted away four cellphones was arrested after a brief chase with policemen Friday before dawn in Malabon City.

The boy, armed with a caliber .38 revolver loaded with two live bullets, sneaked inside the barracks of construction workers at a construction site located along Pampano St. Bgy. Longos past 4 a.m. and stole four mobile phones of sleeping workers.

However, one of the construction workers, woke up and noticed the suspect’s presence, who hurriedly went out, carting away their cellphones.

He immediately woke up his co-workers and sought the assistance of patrolling elements of Malabon Police Sub-Station 5, who chased the boy.

After a brief chase, P/Cpl. Sergio Consulta III, Pat. Alexis Canizarez, and Pat. John Cedric Goque were able to corner the young suspect.

Recovered were four mobile phones worth a total of P12,800 owned by the stay-in workers and a cal. 38 revolver tucked on the minor’s waist.

Case investigators P/SSgt Diego Ngippol and P/Cpl Renz Marlon Baniqued said the rescued minor was turned over to Bahay Sandigan, a facility built by the local government of Malabon to take care of children in conflict with the law.
