IMUS CITY, Cavite – A suspected chemical explosion damaged a house in a residential village here on Friday morning, September 9, 2022.

Local authorities identified the victims who sustained injuries were Marylyne Ochoa, 56; Alaisa Marie Ochoa, 29; and Jay Arvin Ochoa, 25.

Initial investigation disclosed that an explosion of unknown origin occurred at a structure that “illegally” stored illegal firecrackers.

The victims were immediately brought to the hospital for medical treatment.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) with the personnel of CPFU and CPEOD investigated the nearby residence and establishment where the explosion happened, wherein their ceilings and windows incurred an undetermined amount of damage.

At least six vehicles parked near the place were damaged, according to Officer-on-Case P/Cpl. Joselle Hernandez of Imus PNP (Philippine National Police).

Meanwhile, a “bomb threat” was received from the Office of the Clerk of Court (OCC) in Imus through their hotline at around 1:45 p.m. of Friday.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team conducted an investigation and cleared the premises from any suspected “explosives”.

The said judiciary office immediately resumed operation upon receiving clearance from the EOD.
