MARIVELES, Bataan–Gov. Joet Garcia discussed with the new chief of the Medical Center Chief of Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital (MMWGH), Dr. Dennis Dayao Ordoña, the various issues on how to effectively manage and run the mental institution.

The governor said this as Ordona paid a courtesy call on the Bataan provincial executive.

During their brief meeting, Gov. Garcia and Dr. Ordoña discussed the various issues such as improvement of health services, coordination with different government agencies, among others.

“Amin pong tinalakay kung paano pa mas mapagbubuti ang mga serbisyo ng MMWGH, partikular na sa mental health gayundin ang pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t-ibang ahensya at mga hakbang upang mawala na ang stigma sa pagkonsulta sa mga espesyalista para sa kalusugang pangkaisipan,” the governor pointed out.

Those who joined the two in the meeting were representatives from the Health Promotion Board.

One of those who joined said: “Hiningi rin po natin ang suporta ng nasabing ospital upang maipaabot din sa mga mag-aaral, partikular na sa mga benepisyaryo ng ating Healthy Paaralan Program, ang mga serbisyo ng ospital upang mapangalagaan at masigurong sila ay may mabuting kalusugan.”

Then congressman and now governor, Garcia was the architect for the conversion and upgrading of Mariveles Mental Hospital into what is now MMWGH.
