BI collars wanted American
BUREAU of Immigration (BI) agents announced the arrest of an American fugitive wanted in his country for crimes against minor victims.
BI OIC (Officer-in-Charge) Commissioner Rogelio D. Gevero, Jr. identified the fugitive as Tye Braxton Stiger, 35, who was arrested by operatives from the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) along Diego Cera Avenue, Last Piñas City, on Saturday.
The arrest was according to a mission order issued by the BI, ordering the FSU to take Stiger into custody after receiving information from US authorities about his crimes.
Records reveal that Tye has an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the City of Jonesville, Hillsdale County, Michigan, in July this year for 35 counts of child pornography-related charges in violation of Michigan Compiled Laws.
He was said to have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher in church communities in Michigan, where he was alleged to have preyed on minor victims in the course of six years.
He was reportedly charged with multiple counts of sexually abusive activity and possession of child sexually abusive material, among other offenses against his victims.
Over a dozen videos of him placing hidden cameras at various locations to record minor children were said to have been seized by authorities.
“Arresting these criminals has always been a priority of our agency, and getting another predator off our streets means we are protecting our kababayan from harm,” said Gevero.
Meanwhile, BI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) have expressed their commitment to prioritize the deportation of alien sex offenders.
DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla instructed the BI to be vigilant against foreign pedophiles and ensure their immediate arrest and deportation.
Earlier this month, Secretary Remulla met with US authorities to discuss enhancing cooperation in combatting cybercrimes, which include online sexual exploitation of women and children.
