BBM edges out Lacson in Cavite turf
CAVITE CITY – Presumptive President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. (BBM), got 1,121,108 votes beating the 91,630 votes garnered for Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, who hails from Bayan Luma in Imus City, Cavite – considered his bailiwick home province, based on the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
During the campaign season, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla promised to frontrunning presidential bet Marcos Jr. that the province would “deliver around 800,000 votes.”
According to the latest unofficial count, as of 12:20 p.m. May 14, Marcos got a total of 1.1M votes in Cavite province, which is more than 300,000 that Remulla initially promised to the soon-to-be-president.
Lacson only placed third among preferred presidential candidates in Cavite, following Vice President Leni Robredo, who got a total of 497,630 votes, while Manila Mayor Isko got 80,436 votes in 7 cities and 15 towns of the province
For the vice-presidential race, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte collected 1,031,443 votes, Senator Tito Sotto has 376,776, and Senator Kiko Pangilinan has 297,033 votes. By Dennis Abrina
