Balut vendor hacked by father in-law in Cuyapo

CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija – A 27-year-old balut vendor was hacked by his father-in-law during a heated argument here on Tuesday.

Police head Major Jeffrey S. Alivia said the wounded victim was from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

The suspect, the victim’s father-in-law, from Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, was subsequently arrested during a follow-up operation, said Alivia.

Investigation showed the hacking incident transpired in Bgy. Maycaban at 5:00 a.m. here.

The duo got embroiled in a heated altercation resulting in the suspect hacking his son-in-law with a bladed weapon called a katana sword at the victim’s back.

Alivia said the victim was rushed to the Cuyapo Infirmary Hospital and later transferred to the Urdaneta District Hospital for further medical treatment.

Appropriate charges are set to be filed against the arrested suspect.
