Azurin calls for unity

CANDELARIA, QUEZON — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. called on Quezon leaders and its people to keep their unity and cooperation for the benefit of the province.

Azurin made the appeal during his speech shortly after donating a newly-procured PNP patrol car to this progressive town on Sunday intended for the use of Candelaria police station.

The PNP chief said Quezonians should consider Candelaria as a model of progress and unity as he congratulated its leaders, especially Mayor George Suayan, Vice- Mayor Macario Boongaling and the latter’s elder brother, philantropist Leodegario “Ka Luding” Boongaling who has been helping the town and its police force for so long.

Also present during the activity were Major General Jesus Cambay, chief of the Directorate for Comptrolership, Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, the Calabarzon police director and Col. Ledon Monte, the Quezon police director.

Azurin assured the town leaders of the PNP’s cintinuous support as he announced the nearing construction of a modern municipal police station in the town.

The chief PNP once served as the commander of the defunct 231st PC/ INP in the early 90’s.

He also served as commander of Area Police Command for Southern Luzon based in Lucena City, the province’ capital.
