AN armed drug trafficking suspect was killed in a shootout with undercover police officers in Labo, Camarines Norte last Saturday, said Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo.

The suspect whose real identity is still being validated engaged officers in a gunfight shortly after he sensed he was dealing with a poseur and was killed in the process.

Estomo said the firefight erupted after the suspect sold 25 grams of shabu worth P150,000 to the undercover agent.

The suspect was described as a known drug trafficker in Rizal who transferred to Bicol region to elude a police manhunt.

An unidentified companion of the slain suspect who managed to flee at the height of the encounter is still being tracked down as of press time, said Estomo.
