Arjo Atayde nanumpa bilang QCD1 congressman
OPISYAL na ginawa ni Arjo Atayde ang kanyang panunumpa bilang congressman-elect ng Quezon City District 1 (QCD1) sa pormal na inauguration ng mga congressmen at city councilors ng Quezon City, na ginanap sa Eraño G. Manalo Hall ng EVM Convention Center Central sa Diliman, Quezon City.
Kasama ang lahat ng mga nahalal na congressmen at councilors ng QCD1 at pati na rin sina Mayor Joy Belmonte at Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, pinamunuan ang inauguration ng Honorable Chief Justice na si Alexander Gesmundo.
Kasama ni Atayde ang kanyang pamilya kabilang na ang kanyang ama na si Art Atayde at ang kanyang kapatid – ang aktres na si Ria Atayde na siya ring Bible bearer ng pagtitipon.
Landslide na nanalo si Atayde sa congressional race ng QCD1 sa 112,457 na boto na 66.84% ng total votes sa distrito. Anim na panukalang batas na ang naisumite ni Atayde para sa 19th Congress at ito ay kinabibilangan ng House Bill No. 457 – an act declaring Quezon City as the “Film and Television Arts” capital of the Philippines; House Bill 458 – an act upgrading and converting the Quezon City General Hospital into a medical center, to be known as Quezon City General Hospital and Medical center, appropriating funds thereof and other purposes; House Bill 459 – an act providing for occupational safety and health standards for the workers and talents in the movie and television industry; House Bill 460 – an act prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression (SOGIE) providing penalties thereof, and for other purposes; House Bill No. 461 – an providing for the magna carta of barangay health workers; at House Bill No. 462 – an act establishing the Philippine Virology Science and Technology Institute and appropriating funds thereof.
