ANOTHER sextortionist was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group in an entrapment operation Friday in Caloocan City.

PNP-ACG director Brigadier General Joel B. Doria identified the suspect as one ‘Eddie Gracia’, 47, a vendor from Barangay 886, Manila, and was arrested in a sting inside Room 425 of Astrotel Monumento located on Samson Road in Caloocan City.

Members of the PNP-ACG Northern District Anti-Cybercrime Team led by Captain Santiago Roy and the Caloocan City Police Sub-Station 3 under Major Anthony Co conducted the sting following a complaint from a 27-year-old former live-in partner of the suspect.

It turned out that the complainant from Valenzuela City sought the help of the cybercops after her ex-partner threatened to spread her sensitive photos and their sex videos in social media if she won’t agree to meet with him again.

The suspect reportedly uploaded their sensitive videos and photos in their Facebook group chats to embarrass the complainant before her family and friends.

Exasperated, the woman agreed to meet-up with the accused in a motel after being promised by the latter that he will delete their explicit videos and photos as soon as their tryst is over.

Unknown to the suspect, undercover cybercops were already waiting for him to show up at the meeting place. The suspect yielded a cellphone which has been submitted for a digital forensic examination.

The suspect was charged with grave coercion and grave threat, violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Violence against Women and their Children Act and RA 9995 or the Photo and Video Voyeurism Act in relation to RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
