New singers, new releases

HERE’S an update on the music scene with the following releases sent by Ad-Prom manager Punch Liwanag.

The Cebuano singer-songwriter, Von Saw, shares his first self-penned track under Viva Records titled “Mine.” The dreamy pop and R&B verses of the song encapsulate a moment of rekindling the romance of a couple amidst their busy lives, making sure that they are always able to communicate their love and appreciation for one another.

“Kapit” literally is a song by Your Last Stanza that talks about holding on and keeping it strong amidst the challenges and differences of a couple in the relationship. The folk, alternative rock beats of the song supports the grit of every verse’s message to keep it together.

Ezro flexes Filipina beauty in his perspicuous verses of admiration in his new single, “Gandang Pilipina.” The hip-hop track showcases Ezro’s endearing R&B hooks weaved in a techno beat of coherent lyricism.

A girl meets girl love story depicts not only romance but an underlying clarity in the lens of these empowered characters in “Lulu,” the newest Vivamax Series. Aly Remulla sings the tunes of extensive emotions and views of the series on its key track, “Lulu.” Two other soundtracks are “Nandito Ako” by Aly Remulla and Pappel with the distinction of a comforting and confronting means to it, and “Interlude” by Aly Remulla and EMN’98 reverberating a deeper sense of reality.

How much fire would be enough to heat the desire to stay with someone? “Gusto kitang mapasakin kahit na mali” says the song “Sandali” by Because in the official soundtrack of Vivamax’s new movie, “Silip Sa Apoy.” And just when the fire isn’t burning anymore and the hope withered, “Ang Rosas” of Rob Deniel reverberates the slightest hope of a new bloom and a deeper root of love.
