All airports safe after quake

ALL airports are safe, after the magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Looc, Occidental Mindoro, Monday, said ranking official of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The CAAP Manila tower immediately activated emergency plan 6 after the earthquake to check on the status of airports in Mindoro.

In a text message by CAAP Chief of Staff Danjun Lucas said that “based on the investigation conducted by respective area managers in all airports operated by CAAP within area 3, fortunately, our airport facilities did not incur any damages.”

A report added that airport in San Jose, Mamburao and Lubang had no structural damages on buildings, structures and equipment. All personnel are safe and accounted for.

The rest of airports under area center 3 (Mindoro) did not feel the earthquake.

A Plaridel Airport did not incur any damage.

The Ninoy Aquino Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) also reported no damage also in the recent earthquake.
