Agri-Kaagapay extends help to 1K families affected by fire in Tondo

Agri1THE Agri-Kaagapay organization has lent assistance to at least 1,000 families who were left homeless in a fire that consumed reportedly half of the slum community of Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila, recently.

Civic leader Virginia Ledesma Rodriguez, founder of Agri- Kaagapay organization, led the relief operation by distributing clothes, hygiene items, food and water to the families affected by the fire.

During the relief operation, Rodriguez, known for being a philanthropist, expressed her sincere hope for the safety of every resident as she pledged to continue supporting the victims to the best of her capacity, and highlighting her commitment to aiding those in need.

Held in a covered court in Bgy. Isla Puting Bato, families received grocery packs, water containers, snacks, shirts, and medicines.

She also expressed gratitude to local leaders and other private organizations for the collective efforts and unity in overcoming challenges.

“It is through our joint efforts that we can ensure that no one is left behind in the journey towards recovery,” Rodriguez said.

Aside from being the founder of AGRI-KAAGAPAY, Rodriguez is also the president of the organization that advocates for the well being and uplift the lives of ismall and poor farmers and indigenous peoples (IPs).

The fire victims at the Isla Puting Bato and barangay leaders were thankful to Ms. Rodriguez’s tireless assistance and genuine care offered each time by the Agri-Kaagapay.
