Suportado ng Czech Republic ang modernization program ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Sa joint press conference sa Prague, sinabi ni Czech President Petr Pavel kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na bahagi ang modernization ng technology transfer at defense investment initiatives.

“The Czech Republic has had a long tradition when it comes to defense industry. We have a lot to offer,” pahayag ni Pavel nang tanungin kung anong uri ng kooperasyon ang gagawin ng dalawang bansa sa pagdepensa sa international law, partikular na sa South China Sea issue.

Ikinalulugod ito ni Pangulong Marcos at sinabing: “The Czech Republic has always been active as a source of equipment from the Philippines.

And so, we come again to the Czech Republic and offer the partnership with the Czech Republic and the Philippines,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, bahagi ng AFP modernization program ang procurement schedule sa ilalim ng Re-Horizon Phase 3 of the Revised AFP Modernization Program (RAFPMP), training ng military force.

Sa ilalim ng Re-horizon 3 ang pagbili ng dagdag na barko, aircraft at radar systems na naka focus sa pagpapaganda sa military archipelagic defense capabilities

Sinabi naman ni Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala na handa ang kanilang bansa na tumulong sa Pilipinas.

“The Philippines is a more regional partner in the field of defense and cooperation iand they are very interested to help with the process of modernization of military equipment,” pahayag ni Fiala.
