CABANATUAN CITY – The Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office led by Col. Jaime Santos came up with another novel program aimed to promote cleanliness in all of the 849 barangays in the province in adherence to the three-pronged intensified cleanliness policy of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.

On Tuesday, Col. Santos spearheaded the launching of his new pet project dubbed “BARANGAYanihan Linis Sa Barangay,” with the conduct of simultaneous cleaning activities of main and secondary roads in the barangays starting at 6 a.m. onwards.

In launching the project, the Nueva Ecija top cop tapped the services of his men from the 32 police stations and the Provincial Mobile Force Company from across the province, along with volunteers from the different barangays and members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo.

Also joining the activity were employees and staff members from the provincial capitol under the office of Gov. Aurelio Umali.

“It will be a continuous and regular activity by our men to interact with the community as regards to this barangayanihan linis sa barangay project,” said Santos, who led the cleaning activity in Bgy. Sangitan West.

He said the activity aims to promote one of the core values of the police organization – that of being “Makakalikasan” (lover of nature).

Santos said the project was part of the ICP that is being espoused by the current PNP leadership, which is also aimed to strengthen harmonious relationship between PNP organization and the community.

“The ICP of police chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar focuses on three key factors — cleanliness inside PNP offices, cleanliness with the ranks, and cleanliness in the community. The ICP aims to ensure that all deliverables would meet the standards of a true public servant,” Santos said.
