NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major General Felipe R. Natividad yesterday cited the activation of unified security forces in Parañaque City which he said will greatly help them keep peace and order in the area amid the new normal and their ongoing effort to ensure a peaceful and orderly May 19 national and local elections.

The creation of the Unified Security Forces in the city which is composed of nearly 1,200 private security guards is a brainchild of Parañaque City Police Station Chief Col. Maximo F. Sebastian and Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Jimili L. Macaraeg.

“Peace and order, security and safety are everybody’s concern,” Maj. Gen. Natividad said when he led his men in recognizing the major role being played by security guards in Metro Manila.

Private security guards are among the largest “force multipliers” of the police force along with volunteers from different non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local government units (LGUs).

On behalf of the private security forces in the city, one of the security managers identified as Pedro Dulay said they appreciate the police force for allowing them to tie up with them in maintaining peace and order as well as in apprehending lawbreakers in their areas.

He also thanked the local police for allowing them to hook up directly to the local police station to have easy communication in case of emergency.

Maj. Gen. Natividad recognized the contribution of private security forces in the maintenance of peace and order in the metropolis and thanked them for their continuing trust and support to the police force.
