Carlos fetes top PNP-CIDG men

OUTSTANDING officers and men of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group were feted by PNP chief General Dionardo B. Carlos for their major contribution to the success of the CIDG in fighting criminality, terror and corruption in 2021 to date.

The awardees were led by Colonel Satiago D. Pascual III, named as CIDG Commissioned Officer for Administration of the Year and Co. Randy Glenn G. Silvio, named CIDG Commissioned Officer for Operation of the Year. Silvio, the chief of the CIDG National Capital Region Field Unit was cited for the success of his unit in solving a number of major crimes as well as their accomplishments against wanted persons, loose firearms and high-profile CPP/NPA personalities in Metro Manila.

The two were among those who received plaques of appreciation from PNP Deputy Chief for Operations, Lieutenant Gen. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson, Undersecretary Debold M. Sinas of the Office of the President and PNP-CIDG director, Major Gen. Albert Ignatius D. Ferro during the CIDG’s 69th Founding Anniversary.

The other awardees were Major Esmael A. Madin (Best Junior Commissioned Officer); Lieutenant Col. Crisle T. Cainong (Case Manager of the Year); Police Executive Master Sergeant Shermalou B. Javier (Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer); Corporal Jojo G. Cruz (Best Junior PNCO); PEMS Lea A. delos Reyes (Best Investigator); Non-Uniformed Personnel Alvero J. Tutaan (NUP of the Year); the Regional Field Units 4-A , 6 and 8 as the Best Regional Field Units of the Year in Category A, B an C respectively); the Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crime Unit (Special Operations Unit of the Year); Manila District Field Unit (District Field Unit); Batangas Provincial Field Unit (Best Provincial Field Unit Category A); Camarines Sur PFU (Best Provincial Unit Category B); Misamis Occidental PFU (Best Provincial Field Unit Category C); and the Cebu City Field Unit (Best City Field Unit).

The PNP-CIDG marked its 69th anniversary with the theme “CIDG: Sa Anumang Hamon, Tagapagtanggol ng Bayan Laban sa Kriminalidad, Ang “Amigo Cops.”

The event was also highlighted by the launching of the CIDG Investigation Leading Procedure and Contact Tracing manuals, described as the fruits of the extensive experience of Ferro in investigation as well as the collaboration of experts which were put into user-friendly-take anywhere handbooks.

“The investigation manual is dedicated to the selfless detectives of the Philippine National Police, who provided the wealth of experiences that serve as my inspiration for this book and the people who nurtured and enriched my knowledge on investigation and the law, while the contact tracing manual is not a substitute for formal contact tracing training but a handy guide for dedicated contact tracing team members and non-members,” Ferro said.

Gen. Carlos congratulated the awardees and the rest of the officers and men of the CIDG even as he urged them to continue working hard in order to bring a highly-credible service to the organization and the public.
