THE Department of Health-Vaccine Operation Reporting System CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) reported that the region has surpassed its daily target during the first day of the three-day National Vaccination Day.

Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia said they exceeded the realistic target of 340,000 vaccinees by recording a total of 353,140 (103.8) jabs as of 12 midnight of Nov. 29. CALABARZON is followed by Region 3 with a total 299,487 and Region 7 with 190,250 individuals vaccinated.

“These figures only show that people are already acknowledging the importance of COVID vaccines to their health. Mas maraming taong mababakunahan, mas magiging protektado ang ating mamamayan laban sa COVID virus,” he said.

Valencia noted that the region averages about 100,000 vaccinations per day, adding that they have set a realistic goal of at least 340,000 vaccinees daily during the three-day NVD in order to cover all the unvaccinated eligible populations in the provinces, especially those in GIDA communities.

During the first day of the vaccination period, Valencia conducted rounds and visited LGUs in Laguna to personally witness the conduct of vaccination activities in the province.

“We have provided ample supply of vaccines to cover the target population in our island towns,” he assured.
