CAGAYAN Valley local government units (LGUs), the Police Regional Office (PRO) 2 and other agencies this week received over P5 million worth of medical supplies, medicines and food packs from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

PRO2 director, Brigadier General Steve B. Ludan assisted PCSO vice chairperson and general manager Royina Garma in distributing the aid to the recipients at the PRO2 covered court.

The recipients include the Cagayan Police Provincial Office headed by Colonel Renell Sabaldica, the local Bureau of Fire Protection under Chief Inspector John Dulin and the local chief executives of Cagayan, Nueva Viscaya and Kalinga provinces.

The PCSO donation include wheelchairs, stretchers, hospital beds, masks, gloves, personal protective equipment and medicines worth nearly P5.3 million.

“We are here to fulfill the directive of our President to distribute charity funds for those who are in need. Marami tayong pondo, handa kaming magbigay ng tulong lalo na ngayong pandemya pero nakikiusap kami sa mga LGUs, NGAs (national government agencies) o kung anumang organisayong nais makakuha ng ayuda mula sa PCSO na ayusin kaagad ang liquidation ninyo dahil doon tayo nagkakaproblema,” Garma emphasized.

She added that the PCSO will continue to provide funds for health care especially for COVID-9 patients seeking medical attention.

Garma also expressed her gratitude to the PRO2 leadership for providing assistance and support to PCSO in delivering government service to Cagayan Valley residents.

The activity was made in line with the PCSO’s 87th founding anniversary.
