7 abducted in Batangas

CAR-RIDING suspects on Friday snatched seven people in separate occasions in Laurel and Lemery in Batangas.

Capt. Laurel Frejas, acting chief of police of the Laurel Municipal Police Station, identified those kidnapped in the town as Mar Christian Ore, Eugene Noora, Shane Despe, Paulino Sebastian, Carlo Fazon and Mark Neil Caraan, all residents of Dasmarinas City, Cavite.

All victims were excursionists, who just came from a resort in Batangas, when abducted.

Officer on case SSgt. Roel Medina said two female companions of the six, Perly Lape and Ma. Jennelyn Bauyan, went to the police station to report the incident.

Lape and Bauyan said they were traveling in a Mitsubishi Xpander driven by Ore on their way home from an overnight outing at the Matabungkay Beach Resort in Batangas when four cars with around 10 men blocked their path at 5:30 a.m. on Friday.

The armed suspects alighted from the vehicles, pulled the six victims from the Mitsubishi Xpander and forced them to board a white Starex van then fled , leaving behind the two women. The suspects also took the victims’ vehicle.. The suspects also took the victims’ vehicle. Lape and Bauyan immediately went to the police station and sought police’s help. Frejas directed his men to conduct pursuit operations.

In Lemery town, officer-on-case Cpl. Benedict Eguia identified the victim as Kenneth Roger Jumawan, a 38-year-old graphic artist, and a resident of Bgy. Arumahan, Lemery, Batangas.

Jumawan’s live-in partner, Jennelyn Montenegro, told the police that her “husband” was buying fried chicken in front of his workplace in Bgy. Malinis in Lemery when forcibly taken by men in a Sedan car. The suspects fled with the victim towards the direction of Agoncillo in Batangas.
