Triker shot dead in front of passengers
CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija — A tricycle driver ferrying two passengers on Friday was gunned down by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects while traversing the highway in this town.
Police head Lt. Col. Erwin V. Ferry said victim Eddie Hilario, 58, of Bgy. Tagtagumbao, this municipality, was driving his tricycle going south direction along the Cuyapo-Guimba Road in Bgy.
Nagmisahan when the gun attack took place at 12:59 p.m. on Friday.
Two of the victim’s passengers identified as Herminia Cudalina, 69, and France Cedric Arendon, 19, both of Bgy. San Antonio were unhurt.
Witnesses said two men on a motorcycle overtook the victim’s tricycle and the backrider, who was wearing a helmet, fired twice using a cal. 38 revolver, hitting the victim at his lower abdomen.
The suspects fled towards Guimba town while the victim, who was rushed to the Guimba District Hospital, was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
