GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ (GMA), Cavite – Five students were injured and are currently being observed in the hospital after being run over by a van driven by a cop when the victims were about to cross the pedestrian lane along Congressional Road, Barangay Poblacion 4 here, Friday, September 2, 2022.

The police have arrested the suspect, an active Philippine National Police (PNP) member assigned to GMA Police.

According to the report, the incident happened at 5:45 p.m. along Congressional Road Bgy. Poblacion 4, where students who had just left school were walking and about to go home when the white Nissan Urvan plowed into them.

The victims were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, and the said policeman is scheduled to undergo a medical examination and alcohol and drug tests.

He was temporarily disarmed, and his PNP ID was confiscated while under investigation.

The suspect is scheduled to be charged with criminal and administrative charges.
