CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – PRO3 (Police Regional Office 3) Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay on Monday reported that five foreigners are now under investigation after they were arrested last June 9 along with other individuals in Concepcion, Tarlac.

Baccay said the five foreigners were four American nationals, including a Chilean national.

Baccay said they are now under probe after being released from jail and told authorities they are researchers and not connected with the arrested persons in Bgy. Tinang, Concepcion, Tarlac.

The local police are now coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to know the real identities of the foreigners and their possible deportation.

“The five foreigners were turned over to the Bureau of Immigration for immediate deportation and black listing,” Baccay said.

“We could not discount the possibility that they could be members or supporters of those who have been arrested even if they claim that they are researchers. The fact that they were there during the incident proved otherwise,” he added.

He said the 91 persons arrested in Tarlac, including 12 farmers and 25 students, were charged with illegal assembly and malicious mischief for “destroying” the sugar cane plantation.

Meanwhile, the four minors who were also with them were released by the police.
