2 robbery-kidnap suspects in Laguna nabbed
POLICE yesterday arrested two of the six armed suspects who allegedly abducted two men from a motel and stole their belongings before setting them free in Biñan City, Laguna.
Laguna OIC Provincial Director Col. Harold Depositar identified the arrested suspects as Arvin Ryan Alora and Art Berroya.
The duo’s alleged cohorts, an alias “Scottie Jr.,” alias “Butchoy Capunitan,” alias “Luna” and alias “Nami” managed to elude arrest.
The victims were identified as Moises Lagacion and Kenneth Oliver.
An investigation showed the suspects, who were armed with guns and identified themselves as members of the Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Unit, barged inside the Paradise Inn located in Bgy. San Antonio, Biñan City and forcibly took Lagacion and Oliver at 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
The victims told the police that while inside the get-away vehicle, the suspects took their jewelry, money and electronic devices.
After getting all their personal belongings and cash, the victims said the suspects dropped them off in Bgy. Platero in the same city then fled.
Lagacion and Oliver immediately sought the help of the police.
Two of the suspects were intercepted in Manabat St. in Bgy. Antonio.
Recovered from the arrested suspects were two cal. .38 revolvers, ammunition for the guns, three sachets of suspected shabu, and the victims’ jewelry and cash amounting to P10,000.
The arrested suspects will be charged with violations of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Omnibus Election Code, abduction, robbery-hold-up, and usurpation of authority.
Police are pursuing the other suspects.
