2 MC riders killed in Ecija road mishap
CABIAO, Nueva Ecija – Two motorcycle (MC) riders met their deaths after accidentally colliding with each other while traveling in opposite directions here on Saturday night.
Police head Major Gerald G. Fernandez identified the two fatalities as Carlo Mapilis, 22, single, of Purok 6, Bgy. San Fernando Sur and Ronald Dela Cruz, 19, single, of Purok 3b, Bgy. San Fernando Norte, both of this town.
The accident occurred along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Bgy. San Fernando Sur at 10:45 p.m.
Dela Cruz, who was riding a black Suzuki Smash motorcycle, allegedly occupied the opposite lane, resulting in a collision with the Suzuki Raider 150 being driven by Mapilis.
Due to the strong impact, both drivers sustained severe injuries, causing instantaneous deaths.
Case prober Pat. Ariel Novero said the victims’ families both refused to bring the bodies of the two riders to the hospital.
