IMUS CITY, Cavite – General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School (GEANHS) in Barangay Palico and Imus National High (INHS) in Barangay Bucandala launched this year’s Brigada Eskwela on Monday, August 8, 2022, with the help of the stakeholders, community members, school personnel, teachers, parents, and students.

“Brigada Eskwela in GEANHS commenced with a motorcade to build awareness on the start of school maintenance week with the theme Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-aral,” said Arthur Rosaroso Jr., GEANHS Principal.

The motorcade trooped to neighborhood villages in Buhay na Tubig, Pasong Buaya, and those located along Daang Hari and Aguinaldo Highway, while the team of INHS toured around the Bucandala, Malagasang, and Carsadang Bago areas.

Brigada Eskwela, an annual Department of Education (DepEd) program, aims to rekindle the spirit of volunteerism or “Bayanihan” to promote community participation in preparing school facilities for the opening of classes.

The kick-off program began with an opening message by Pampilo B. Cerbito, Master Teacher II, Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, while Arnel I. Candelaria gave a brief history of Brigada Eskwela and its importance to maintaining school operations.

In his message during the kick-off, Rosaroso Jr., Principal (IV) of GEANHS, lauded the community members and all the participants for their “unrelenting support” of the program, noting that Brigada Eskwela is a partnership between the school and the community.

Guest Speaker P/Lt. Col. James J. Salibio, Cavite Provincial Superintendent of the Provincial Internal Affairs Service, highlighted his support in promoting the health and safety of the school community.

“Sa kasalukuyan, napakaraming bagay ang dapat nating pagtuunan upang maging ligtas ang pagbabalik sa paaralan ng ating mga estudyante,” Salibio said.

The opening of the classes at the public schools is on August 22, 2022.
