FINALLY, ipinakilala na ng 27-year-old Filipina-British Viva singer, actress, dancer, host, commercial model and entrepreneur na si Yassi Pressman ang kanyang Fil-Canadian businessman boyfriend na si Jon Semira matapos niyang i-post ang picture na hinahalikan niya sa pisngi ang nobyo on his recent birthday habang sila’y nasa Amsterdam bilang bahagi ng kanilang first European trip as a couple.

“So happy with where life has brought us, so lucky to have you calm my anxieties, hold my hand, push me to become better & empower me. I promise to keep giving surprise cheek kisses at random times of the day even when u think I’m kulit,” IG message ni Yassi sa kanyang boyfriend.

Jon owns the personal careline business, Wavee. He also co-founded the pet accessories line, Presidential Pawsclub with Yassi and her sister Issa Pressman which was launched in late 2020. He is also the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Wewe Media Group, a marketing agency in Singapore.

Kung hindi kami nagkakamali, malaking influence ang businessman boyfriend ni Yassi na si Jon sa kanyang pagpasok sa iba’t ibang negosyo.

When not busy sa kanyang mga showbiz commitments in the Philippines, Yassi is always travelling with her boyfriend.

Pinoy concert producer kahanga-hanga ang kuwento

NATUTUWA kami sa mga kababayan who are making good in other countries. Isa na rito ang 32-year-old young businessman-turned concert producer na si Tommie Mopia who hails from Gimbal, Iloilo and moved to Los Angeles, California with his family when he was 18.

Si Tommie ay panganay sa tatlong magkakapatid. His two younger siblings ay sina Rose Mopia-Chen (31) at Restee (25) ay natulungan niyang mapagtapos ang pag-aaral sa Amerika while his parents are both teachers.

Hindi ikinakaila ni Tommie ang challenges na kinaharap ng kanyang pamilya nang sila’y mag-migrate sa Amerika with her mom as the only earning for the family. Being the eldest at para na rin makatulong, namasukan siya sa isang caregiving facility kung saan niya natutunan ang pasikut-sikot ng operation na naging daan ng kanyang pagbubukas ng sariling health facility along with two other friends. They also started their staffing agency na siyang nagpu-provide ng staff sa iba’t ibang caregiving health facilities at kasunod na rito ang pagtatayo ng hospice agency. There was also a time ay namasukan siya sa isang law firm.

It was in 2016 nang simulan ni Tommie and his two business partners ang kanilang unang hospice business. A year later ay nagkaroon sila ng kanilang second branch at nung 2019 naman ang kanilang ikatlong sangay and opened their fourth branch nung 2021. They also do consultation for other hospice business operators.

Tommie and his business partners employ more than 160 employees, 40 of which are regular and full time staff habang ang mahigit 120 ay on contractual or part-time basis, 70% of which are Filipinos.

Dahil sa sipag at tiyaga ni Tommie, he was able to buy a four-bedroom house worth $600,000 (now worth $900,000) at North Hills in Los Angeles, California for his family at napagtapos na rin niya sa college ang kanyang dalawang younger siblings.

Sa loob ng 12 taong pamamalagi sa Amerika ay nagre-renta lamang umano ang kanyang pamilya ng apartment kaya ginawa niyang priority ang makabili ng sariling bahay.

Since hindi natapos ni Tommie ang kanyang pag-aaral ng nursing sa Adventist University of the Philippines in Silang, Cavite, he took some units on Healthcare Management and Finance at the North Eastern University in Boston and took 12 units on Management sa Harvard Business School na malaki umano ang naitulong sa pagpapatakbo ng kanilang iba’t ibang negosyo.

It was in 2021 nang pasukin ni Tommie ang pagpu-produce ng concert na kanyang sinimulan kay Jake Zyrus in November and December in Noypitz Cerritos na sinundan ng concert nina Lani Misalucha at Nonoy Zuniga at Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills which he co-produced with Amore Entertainment. He also produced one of the shows ng “Four Kings & A Queen” featuring The Hitmakers na sina Hajji Alejandro, Marco Sison, Rey Valera at Nonoy Zuniga together with Concert Queen Pops Fernandez at kasunod na rito ang isa sa mga shows ni Jed Madela in Hawaii.

There are other upcoming shows which he is producing and co-producing with other concert producers in the US.

“Bukod sa napapasaya natin ang ating mga kababayan dito sa America, nasu-showcase din natin ang iba’t ibang Filipino talents sa America,” pahayag pa ni Tommie na kamakailan lamang na-feature ni Rico Hizon sa kanyang programa sa CNN Philippines dahil sa kanyang inspiring success story in America.
