Bauan, Batangas – A 43-year-old woman the other day appeared at the police station here and requested an investigation against two suspects who allegedly owe her payment for several cellular phones, according to police reports.

Bauan Municipal Police Station case officer PMSG Ivan Gucci P Lavega identified the victim as Jocelene Talag y Medrano, married, while the suspects who are at large were identified as Pedro Mauhay y Agulo alias Sir Peter, of legal age, resident of Bgy. San Andres proper, and one Alma Escalante y Llamoso, of Bgy. Sto Domingo, all in Bauan town.

An investigation conducted disclosed that in June 2020 the suspects personally appeared at the house of the victim inquiring about her cellphone business.

Talag said the suspects proposed to purchase different units of cellphones with the payment to be given in installment of six months.

After the agreement between the victim and the suspects was finalized, the suspects started to gain the trust of the victim, who was impressed that the suspects always paid on time.

Thus, the suspects started to buy a large number of cellular phones from the victim until November 2020 in the amount of P3,042,300.

However, on the agreed time of payment on the due date on the last day of the month, the suspects could no longer be contacted.

The victim brought this matter to the Bgy. Justice of Bgy. San Andres Proper, but the suspects failed to appear.

Documents are being prepared by the police station for filing of appropriate complaints against the suspects.
