What motivates Gabbi as artist
GABBI Garcia, tagged as GMA’S Millennial It girl, felt so lucky when she was chosen to be a part of the first batch of Kapuso stars to be given an extra push by Sparkle, formerly known as GMA Artist Center, this year.
“I’m honored na napili nila ako and I’m excited to grow with all of us in the batch together,” she says. “This will be a year of growth for all of us with the help of Mr. Johnny Manahan. I started with GMA when I was only 15 years old and now, I’m so happy we’re to be given a special boost in our careers.”
What does she think is the reason why she was chosen? What makes her sparkle?
“What makes me sparkle is my drive, my motivation to reach my goals in life and my career,” she says. “I’m so dedicated to my craft and I am determined to reach all my dreams and aspirations as an actress and as a singer.”
So what is she doing to make sure she sustains her sparkle? “You have to continue to love what you’re doing to sustain that sparkle in your career. You should do everything to improve your craft and to prove that you’re worth it for the public to love you and support you.”
Gabbi is about to resume lock in taping for her teleserye, “Love You Stranger”, that was stopped because of the surge of cases in the pandemic. She is paired with real life boyfriend, Khalil Ramos, who also happens to be a part of Sparkle’s Eight Brightest Stars for 2022.
“We’re really very much excited to get down to work kasi ang tagal na naming pinaghahandaan ang characters namin sa ‘Love You Stranger’,” she beams. “Ready na kami for lock in taping. Both of us made a checklist of things to bring on the location. Ako, mas mahaba ang listahan ko kasi ayokong may makalimutan at pagdating doon saka ko pa hahanapin. E kasi, pinagbaon ko na rin si Khalil. Last time, one month kami sa set, lahat, kinukuha rin niya sa akin, so ngayon, dinamihan ko na.”
How does it feel that both she and Khalil are part of Sparkle’s big 8? “We’re both proud and thrilled to experience this kasi ang dami nilang plano that really excite us as artists. We will be very happy to collaborate with them kasi contagious ang energy nila to innovate and bring out the best in their artists. Ramdam na ramdam namin ‘yun ng co-artists ko, so we’re all energized to show kung ano ang magagawa namin together this year for Sparkle and GMA. We’re really proud to be Kapuso!”
