A VIDEO of a man who was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera forcing a woman to ride with him into his motorcycle is now the subject of an investigation by Caloocan City Police after the video went viral.

Caloocan Police Chief P/Col. Samuel Mina Jr. said the incident happened at around 5:45 a.m. last Sunday, September 4, 2022, along Amor Jose Street, Barangay 177, Camarin, while the victim, a 19-year-old woman, was on her way to a chapel.

The suspect, who was wearing a full-face helmet, followed the woman and, while introducing himself as a police officer, tried to convince her to ride with him by telling the victim that the area was too dangerous for her.

When the woman refused, the suspect alighted from the motorcycle and tried to hold her arm, but the victim managed to get rid of him, prompting the latter to leave the area when he noticed that the number of passersby was increasing.

Mina said they are now exhausting all their efforts to gather witnesses who can provide information on the suspect’s identity.
