THE Inter-Agency Task Force on Infectious Diseases (IATF) responded to the call of Deputy Speaker and Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez to send more ventilators to the province.

Rodriguez said the ventilators arrived in CDO, one of the priority cities, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases.

The House leader expressed gratitude to the IATF co-chaired by Health Secretary Francisco Duque and Secretary Karlo Nograles for sending the ventilators to CDO.

The IATF said they have sent to Cagayan de Oro “ventilators to boost the city’s hospitals’ capacity to aid seriously ill patients.”

Rodriguez wrote letters to IATF chairs Duque and Nograles requesting 24 ventilators for CDO, to which the two government officials promptly answered that they will act on the requests.

Malacanang spokesman Harry Roque has announced that the government placed 10 cities outside NCR in its priority list for vaccine distribution to help them contain the spread of COVID=19, specially the highly contagious and possibly deadlier Delta variant.

Roque identified Cagayan de Oro as one of the “plus 10” cities.

Rodriguez thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for ordering the other day that more vaccines be delivered to areas in Mindanao where there is a high incidence of Covid 19.
