A 45-YEAR-OLD woman died after she was allegedly slapped and choked repeatedly by her live-in partner who reportedly got mad after checking her cellular phone.

The victim was declared dead upon arrival at the Novaliches District Hospital.

Her alleged attacker, Wennefred Roxas Sr, 55, was arrested and detained at the Crime Investigation Section of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD-CIS).

A report from the QCPD-CIS showed the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on May 17, 2021 inside the couple’s house in Brgy. Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Investigation showed that on May 16, 2021, the victim along with their two children went to the house of her daughter from her former husband in Tondo, Manila to attend a birthday party.

During the evening of May 17, 2021, the victim and her children were on their way home on board a taxi when she suddenly collapsed and became unconscious.

The victim was still unconscious when they reached the house and was carried and put to bed by her live-in partner.

Moments later, the suspect allegedly got mad after checking the cellphone of the victim.

For still unknown reasons, the suspect allegedly he repeatedly slapped and choked the still unconscious victim.

The incident was reportedly witnessed by their two children who tried to pacify the suspect.

The children said despite repeated plea, the suspect refused to bring their mother to the hospital.

Investigation further disclosed that at about 10 a.m. of May 18, 2021, without the knowledge of the suspect, victim’s daughter with the help of their neighbor rushed the victim to the Novaliches District Hospital but it was too late.

Operatives of PS-4, QCPD arrested the suspect inside their house.
