Light trucks banned on EDSA, Shaw Blvd. starting May 24
STARTING Monday, May 24, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will re-impose the ban on light trucks along EDSA and Shaw Boulevard.
In its advisory, the MMDA Public Information Office (PIO) said that under the uniform light trucks ban, trucks which have a gross capacity weight of 4,500 kgs. and below are prohibited to traverse along EDSA from Magallanes, Makati City until North Avenue, Quezon City, both northbound and southbound, from 5 am until 9 pm; and along Shaw Boulevard (Mandaluyong City and Pasig City) from 6 am until 10 am and from 5 pm until 10 pm.
MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos said the uniform light trucks ban shall be enforced from Monday to Saturday except Sundays and holidays.
Abalos said a violation of the regulation carries a P2,000 fine.
