Total closure of Lagusnilad underpass
THE Manila city government announced the total closure of Lagusnilad underpass to any type of vehicle which started yesterday to allow workers to complete the rehabilitation until September.
Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan said Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) Director Engr. Armand Andres recommended the total closure of Lagusnilad.
The underpass was partially closed on May 2 to give way for its full rehabilitation.
The full rehabilitation of Lagusnilad vehicular underpass will include the improvement of drainage system and upgrading of pumping station to prevent flooding during rainy season and concreting of the road for the safety of the passing motorists.
Mayor Lacuna-Pangan reminded motorists to use alternate routes to avoid the expected heavy traffic in the area.
All vehicles coming from the north side of Manila should make a slight right at Padre Burgos Avenue, turn right at Round Table, cross P. Burgos Avenue to Maria Orosa Street, turn left to T.M.Kalaw Avenue and turn right to Taft Avenue to point of destination.
