The first month
PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. completes today (Saturday) the first month of his 72-month administration, which is set to end at 12 noon on June 30, 2028.
When he assumed the top political post of the land last June 30, he articulated his visions in his well-applauded inaugural address at the historic National Museum.
Marcos laid down his programs and plans of action to address vital issues such as the state of agriculture, energy, infrastructure, tourism, education, health, among others.
But it would do well for the more than 110 million Filipinos, as the 64-year-old Marcos gears up for the second month of his six-year presidency, to set aside their many differences.
In fact, we share the view of various sectors, including the ordinary citizens, that there’s that need to forget politics since “napakalayo pa ang susunod na halalan sa bansa.”
The nation goes to the polls anew in May 2025, when the voters elect 12 senators and thousands of local government officials, including district and party-list congressmen.
In the war against corruption, illegal drugs and smuggling, the people want the authorities to arrest the “big fish,” whose nefarious activities tarnish the image of the country.
Of course, people cannot overemphasize the importance of ridding this impoverished nation of corrupt government officials and employees, illegal drugs, and smugglers.
Sa tulong ng mamamayang Pilipino, kayang-kaya ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos na bigyang solusyon ang ating mga problema na nagpapahirap sa bayan.
