SPEAKER, SOLONS IN BENGUET BPSF

MEMBERS of the House of Representatives continue to show unity and solidarity with the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s efforts to bring government services closer to the people with 63 lawmakers joining Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez who spearheaded the launch of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Benguet held from April 21 to 22.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez revealed that the Benguet BPSF, which rolled out a total of P412 million worth of financial assistance and government services to the people of the province, highest attendance of House members so far in the service caravan, with Agusan del Norte in a close second with a total of 62 House members attending.

“We are in awe of the sheer solidarity of our members in the House of Representatives to President Marcos Jr.’s program of prompt services to Filipinos. Nakabakasyon po ang ating Kongreso, pero nakikita natin ang unity sa ating mga kongresista sa pagdalo sa ating BPSF dito sa Benguet,” Romualdez, the leader of the 300-plus-member House of Representatives, said.

The BPSF has reached the Province of Benguet and is the first such event held in the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) Region. It is also the 15th installment of the service caravan that aims to cover all 82 provinces nationwide.

The 63 lawmakers who attended the Benguet leg of the BPSF include House leaders like Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzalez, Jr., Deputy Speaker David ” Jayjay” Suarez, Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, and Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating mga miyembro ng Kongreso na dumalo sa ating BPSF sa Benguet at personal nilang nasasaksihan ang direktang tulong ng pamahalaan sa ating mga kababayan. I hope this inspires them to do more for their respective constituents in future service caravans in their respective areas,” Romualdez said.

The local host of the service caravan in Benguet is Rep. Eric Go Yap. The BPSF in the province saw the distribution of a total of P261 million in cash aid and P151 million in in-kind assistance in Benguet.

These include P110 million in social services, P10 million in health services, P50 million in agricultural services, P180 million in livelihood services, P35 million in educational assistance, P25 million in other government services, anxd P1 million in regulatory services.

“We hope to cover all 82 provinces within the next few months. Kaya sa ating mga kababayan na hindi pa nabibisita ng BPSF, huwag po kayong mag-alala at darating po sa inyong lalawigan ang serbisyo caravan para maghatid ng tulong-pinansyal at programa ng pamahalaan para sa inyo,” Romualdez added.

The BPSF in Benguet also saw the distribution of some 160,000 kilograms of rice from Romualdez, who has earned the nickname “Mr. Rice” for his program of rice distribution.
