DEPUTY Majority Leader and Tingog Partylist Rep. Jude A. Acidre on Thursday said the immense success of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) is encouraging more and more lawmakers to appreciate government aid programs as they see for themselves how these are helping the people.

During the daily regular press briefing at the House of Representatives, Acidre said the presence of lawmakers in BPSFs in several provinces has given them a first-hand view of how many government aid programs benefit the people.

“When we look at the budget, when we follow through with the budget, when we sign in the budget every year as we do for the budget hearings, mas kakaiba na ang appreciations namin.

“I know with this will be more reflected in the next cycle of budget deliberations, na magiging mas masigasig ang ating mga kongresista sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga ahensiya para mas maintinidhan pa ang mga programa,” he added.

The last BPSF was in Oriental Mindoro, the 13th installment of the service caravan, where over a billion pesos worth of programs were granted to residents of the province. It follows the one that was held in Sultan Kudarat, where a total of 150,000 citizens were served and over P1.2 billion in government aid, services and programs were rolled out.

Ang goal is to be able to have one BPSF in each of the 80 provinces na mayroon tayo ngayon,” he added.
