TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — The visit of Senator Imee Marcos in this first-class town somehow turned out to be a “mini-version” of the now-defunct television drama anthology, “Lovingly Yours, Helen” with the presidential sister giving “love advice” to Vice Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez.

This after the vice mayor sought the senator’s “love advice” if it is time for her to remarry and be loved once again.

The vice mayor, who was widowed in March 2020 following the untimely demise of husband Marvin due to a lingering illness, shared a light moment with about 1,000 beneficiaries of the senator’s Assistance To Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) during a mass pay-out of P3,000 each or a total of P3 million which was held at the municipal gymnasium here on Sunday.

“I was watching your vlog the other day at ang favorite ko ay ang love advice episodes mo Senador Imee, ngayon hihingi ako ng advice mo, Senadora mag-jowowa na ba ako, papayagan na ba ninyo ako mag-jowa,” Santos-Martinez asked the eldest sister of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. when she spoke to welcome the senator upon her arrival here.

To which, the “super Ate Imee ng bayan” took the microphone and gamely replied: “Ang sagot ay galing sa nanay ko, sabi ng nanay ko, kung mag-jojowa ka, dalian mo na habang maganda ka pa.”

After which, the vice mayor said: “Tama, kasi si senadora ay nasa 40-plus at ako ay nasa 30-plus so kailangan na talagang mag-apura.”

During her speech, Senator Marcos again commented about Santos-Martinez’s predicament. She said: “Tulungan na na natin si Vice makahanap ng jowa sa lalong madaling panahon, kapag kase tumatagal, bumababa ang market value sa araw-araw na dumadaan.”

In a separate media interview after the activity, the widowed vice mayor said: “Kapag mayroon na hindi ba, why not. Kung wala namang sabit, okay lang.”

“Hindi kasi, pinapanood ko mga vlogs ni Senator Imee, kumbaga to keep the moments light, biniro ko lang si senadora about the love advice,” she said.

Overall, a total of P7.5-million worth of AICS was given out in Nueva Ecija, inclusive of another P3-million distributed in the Science city of Muňoz and P1.5-million in Cabanatuan city, plus another P5-million assistance was given by the Senator as farmers’ aid in this town.

In Cabanatuan city, Senator Marcos was welcomed by City Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara and her father-Vice Mayor Jay Vergara where the senator led the distribution of 1,000 noche buena food packs to 1,000 beneficiaries from Bgys. Mabini Extension, Mabini Homesite and Sta. Arcadia.
