S. Mindanao cops jail sex crime suspects
FOUR most wanted sex offenders in Southern Mindanao were hauled to jail by agents of the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO11) in separate manhunt operations in the region on Friday, PRO11 director, Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. said on Monday.
In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that one of the suspects identified as Johndrix Escarian, tagged as the Top 6 Most Wanted Person in Region 11 was arrested on the strength of a warrant for statutory rape by sexual assault, statutory rape and acts of lasciviousness.
Members of the Buhangin Police Station 5 in Davao City tracked down the 28-year-old suspect in Soraya Homes in Bgy. Cabantian past 10 a.m. Friday and placed him under arrest on the strength of the warrants issued by Judge Zarah Aguisando-Silvosa of the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 33.
The judge recommended no bail for the suspect in connection with the statutory rape cases filed against him.
The 2nd identified as Marvin Nawa, 20, a ‘habal-habal’ driver from Purok Waterfalls in Bgy. Mekawayan, Calinan District in Davao City was arrested on the same day on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Aguisando-Silvosa too.
Described as the Top 10 most wanted person in the region, the suspect is the subject of a warrant for two counts of lascivious conduct. The court recommended a P200,000 bail for each of the offense.
The 3rd identified as Richard Perlas, a man wanted for rape, sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness was arrested on the same day in his hiding place in Duha Road in Bgy. 10-A, Davao City.
Judge Aguisando-Silvosa recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the suspect in connection with the rape, sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness case filed against him.
Brig. Gen. Silo said that the 4th suspect identified as Julito Batuctoy, a 25-year-old farmer wanted for a qualified rape and acts of lasciviousness case was arrested on Friday in Purok Durian in Bgy. Tawan-Tawan, Baguio District in Davao City.
Judge Glenn de Castro of the Davao City RTC Branch 8 recommended no bail for the qualified rape case filed against the accused.
