SENATOR Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. said he felt relieved after Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Speaker Martin Romualdez finally shook hands before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as both leaders agreed to work professionally for the sake of Filipinos.

“Ang talo talaga sa bangayan na nangyayari between the Senate and the House of Representatives ay ang taong bayan,” Revilla said in an interview.

Revilla admitted that he was torn between the Senate and the House exchange of political bickering.

“This is good news for all of us. Alam naman ninyo na I am from Lakas party of Speaker Romualdez and since I am also a senator, medyo naiipit po tayo and masaya ako na finally, both leaders of two congress agreed to stop the bickering among our lawmakers.” Revilla said.

Earlier, Zubiri said he and Romualdez finally talked during the 100th birthday celebration of former Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile, now the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, in Malacañang.

Zubiri said both of them agreed to work together for the sake of the Filipino people and to help the administration of President Marcos jr.

The verbal squabble started after some senators accused members of the house on various issues particularly related in the amendments of the 1987 Constitution on whether or not they will vote jointly or separately and the controversies of people’s initiative.
