QC cops arrest 2 robbery suspects
AUTHORITIES in Quezon City arrested two robbery suspects who stole cash, perfumes and cigarettes at a convenience store last Thursday.
The Novaliches police identified the arrested suspects as Renato Tugado, 21, and Carlo Tapan, 23, who were the primary suspects in the robbery at an Alfarmart branch along Susano Road in Brgy. San Agustin.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the suspects were collared at around 3:00 a.m. after a tip off by an employee of the store who saw the suspects in their closed-circuit television inside the establishment at around 2:23 a.m.
“Binutas nila yung bubong nung establishment. Sinira yung kisame at doon sila pumasok,” Maranan said.
The suspects then emptied the cash register and also took some other items from the store such as cigarettes and perfumes.
Acting on the information, policemen responded to the scene and arrested the suspects. Seized from the duo were a knife, a saw and a screwdriver.
The suspects are now facing charges of robbery before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office.
