PWU grad beats odd during pandemic, emerges topnotcher

HAYDEE Soriano Bacani emerged as topnotcher in the recently concluded Nursing Board examinations conducted by the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).

All first time takers from the PWU School of Nursing passed the same license exams.

Considering the challenges brought about by the pandemic, online classes and flexible learning, the group was undaunted.

Haydee initiated several programs as approved by the university president.

One of this was ‘rapid response and code blue’ attended by more than 1,000 participants worldwide and streamed through the PWU official page.

Haydee said grit and the willingness to serve and make a difference saw them through.

The 102-year-old institution and now with its 10th president continue to foster the vision of the founders.

In 1919, seven women had a dream — to provide Filipino women then with the best education, prepare them for moral and civic responsibility and train them to successfully combine homemaking and career.
