Victim accuses dad of 15 counts of rape

A SUSPECTED drug pusher with a mutilated left arm is expected to stay longer in detention cell after his 12 -year- old girl daughter accused him of 15 counts of rape and impregnating her.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)- Quezon head Dominador Villanueva said Mark Eric Obciana, 40, fish vendor and resident of Bgy. Ilayang Ilasan, Tayabas City, Quezon, was accused by her five-month pregnant daughter of raping her on several occasions.

Villanueva said the girl has been living with Obciana together with the latter’s live- in partner and their children after her biological mother left their home.

He said the girl’s mother now lives in Bgy. Dalahican, Lucena City with her live- in partner and their children.

Villanueva added the NBI handled the case after the girl’s mother learned of her daughter’s ordeal and sought the bureau’s assistance thru the help of the STAN sattelite office of Quezon Rep. Angelina ‘Helen’ Tan that provides all forms of basic assistance to the public.

In her affidavit, the girl alleged that Obciana started raping her on the night of September 7, 2020 and it was repeated on September 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25, October 1 and 2 beyond the knowledge of his father’s live- in partner.

“Kapag nagsumbong daw po ako ay hindi na niya ako papayagang dumalaw sa mama ko sa Lucena,” the girl told Special Investigator Elbert Maliwanag.

The girl said that her ultrasound examination last March 31, showed she is five months pregnant.

When confronted by the girl’s mother, Obciana denied the accusation saying that the girl might have been impregnated by somebody when the victim vested her mother in Lucena City.

Last April 9, 2021, Obciana was arrested by operatives of the Tayabas City police station under Major Pacis during a drug buy- bust operation.

It was learned that Obciana was previously arrested by the police over drug charges but was later released after posting bail.
