POLICE Regional Office 11 (PRO11) director, Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. on Sunday announced the arrest of a top drug target in Southern Mindanao during an anti-drug raid in Davao City.

The suspect, Angelie Pacate, was arrested along with her live-in partner Rosendo Pelpinosas during the anti-narcotics operation in Mandug, Davao City conducted by local police last Thursday.

Recovered during a search of the couple’s house were some P150,000 worth of shabu. Both are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Brig. Gen. Silo.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. commended the PRO11 for its latest accomplishment in the PNP’s war on drugs as he noted that the operation led to the arrest of the 5th most wanted drug personality in the region.

The top cop also congratulated the PRO11 for accounting for a cache of high-powered weapons during an operation in Purok Manlucdo in Barangay San Isidro, Lupon, Davao Oriental.

Recovered during the operation conducted by the local police and the Army were two M-16 automatic rifles, one M-203 grenade launcher and one M-14 rifle.

“The PNP will always take an aggressive approach against bearers of illegal firearms and ammunitions. This is one way we can suppress criminal activities,” Azurin said.
