Prepare sample ballots, Sara tells voters
LAKAS-CMD vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte urged voters to be wise in choosing the next leader of the country.
During her campaign sortie in Iloilo City, Mayor Sara proposed to the voters to prepare a sample ballot during election day as their guide and to avoid confusion.
The chairperson of Lakas-CMD got a warm welcome from a throng of supporters who attended the gathering at Iloilo Convention Center.
According to her, sample ballots have a very practical use come election day and it can spell the difference between making good choice and a bad one, particularly when it comes to the senatorial race.
“Alam niyo po sa study na ginagawa ng pulsers at surveyors lagi po tayong mga botante anim lang ang mga ibobotong senators dahil daw minsan wala silang kopya. Hindi na nila maalala kung sino yung mga senators na iboboto nila,” Mayor Sara said.
“Pangalawa, dahil sa haba ng balota natin, haba ng balota natin sa sobrang dami ng pangalan, tinatamad yung mga botante maghanap nung kanilang mga pangalan sa mga senators. Kaya nire-remind ko po kayong lahat na sa araw po ng ating eleksyon, maghanda po tayo ng ating sample ballot,” she added.
A sample ballot contains the number designated to each of the prefered candidates of the voter as well as each of the candidates’ surnames.
Mayor Sara also stressed the importance of filling up the ballot with 12 names for senator.
“Tayo ay binigyan ng batas na pumili ng 12 na senators, so reminder lang po yan sa inyong lahat sa araw ng election day. Yan po kanina sinabi ko na sa inyo ang aming senators, nagsasabi silang lahat na meron silang lakas na tumulong sa ating bayan, gagawa ng batas ang mga iyan sa ating Senado,” she also said.
The UniTeam has 11 senatorial candidates namely Jinggoy Estrada, Herbert Bautista, Mark Villar, Loren Legarda, Harry Roque, Rodante Marcoleta, Larry Gadon, Gringo Honasan, Gibo Teodoro, Sherwin gatchallian, Migz Zubiri.
Mayor Sara is also campaigning for some of her friends who are running for Senate like JV Ejercito, Robin Padilla and Joel Villanueva.
