PDEG agents nab 8 drug suspects,seize over P1.3-M shabu
EIGHT known drug personalities were hauled to jail by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in a string of anti-narcotics operations this week which also led to the confiscation of over P1.3 million worth of shabu, PDEG director Brigadier General Dionisio B. Bartolome Jr. told the Journal Group on Friday.
The official said one of the suspects identified as Danreb Battung, 30, was arrested in a sting in Tondo, Manila by PDEG Special Operations Unit-National Capital Region with the support of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission.
The suspect yielded two plastic packets containing shabu valued at P680,000, the buy-bust money and a mobile phone.
The second suspect, identified as Arturo Ortacion,66, was apprehended in a buy-bust in Barangay San Juan in Taytay, Rizal and yielded 55 grams of shabu worth P374,000 and the entrapment money.
The two others — identified as Franklin Nardo alias ‘Chef,’ 45, and Gabriel Banate, 25, both tagged as high-value individuals in Central Visayas yielded P236,000 worth of shabu in an entrapment in Cebu City.
All three suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Four other suspects who were all the subject of warrants for violation of RA 9165 were arrested by PDEG agents in separate manhunt operations.
Joel Reunir, 23, was arrested in Bgy. Pahanocoy in Bacolod City based on warrant issued by the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court Branch 50.
Rejun Murillo,27, was arrested based on warrant issued by the Polomolok, South Cotabato RTC Branch 63 in Bgy. San Isidro, General Santos City.
Remus Cabiles, 45, was arrested in Bgy. Taculing in Bacolod City on orders of the Bacolod City RTC Branch 44, while John Raymund Abenojar, 38, was arrested in Bgy. Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on orders of the Dagupan City RTC Branch 44.
