‘Oplan Kaluluwa’ launched in Noveleta, Amadeo

NOVELETA, Cavite – The local government of Noveleta and Amadeo launched the “Oplan Kaluluwa” to organize the celebration of the “Day of the Dead” or Undas on November 1, 2022, which can be seen on their respective social media sites a few days before the All Souls’ and All Saints’ day celebration in the country.

Mayor Dino Chua of Noveleta issued guidelines commemorating “Undas” – from October 30 to November 1, The Love Memorial Park in Barangay Salcedo and the public cemetery in Barangay Poblacion will be temporarily closed to all types of vehicles.

Passing the stretch of Sta. Rosa Road from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1; the alternative roads; to those heading to Bacao, Gen. Trias, and Tanza can go through Salcedo road.

For those going to Cavite City and Noveleta town proper, you can go through Centennial Road and turn left to San Jose road.

According to Chua, cleaning the tombs of the departed loved ones is only allowed until Oct. 31, 2022.

Prohibited within the cemeteries are carrying sharp objects (knives and scissors), alcoholic beverages, gambling, and any object that can create noise, such as Bluetooth speakers.

Amadeo local government issued routes of vehicles to ensure a smooth traffic flow in the area, especially in the vicinity of cemeteries.

According to Mayor Redel Dionisio, “Everyone is encouraged to visit their departed loved ones before November 1st to avoid the influx of people at the cemetery on the said day.”

He also encouraged that, if possible, not to bring a vehicle to reduce the traffic as local authorities expect many visitors to cemeteries.

Bringing alcohol, knives, firearms, playing cards, loud sound systems, and cooking inside the cemetery is strictly prohibited.

Every cemetery will have a help or emergency desk for those needing assistance.

The public is encouraged to continue to wear a face mask and follow the minimum health protocol.
