Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares and Roel de Haas, Global Education Strategist of Benetech, sign a memorandum of agreement for the Bookshare Project, the world’s largest library of E-books for people who read differently.

The project aims to promote inclusive education by empowering print-disabled individuals through digital technology. The partnership was witnessed by US-based Benetech vice president for programs Lisa Wadors, Outreach coordinator Aggie Angeles, National Library of the Philippines assistant director Edgardo Quiroz and Deped Antipolo SDS Dr. Flandez. Also present were representatives from city and barangay officials, the academe, local librarians of Rizal province, and project beneficiaries which include differently abled children (PWDs) with reading barriers due to disabilities like blindness, low vision, dyslexia, and cerebral palsy.
