BINATIKOS ni National Security Adviser (NSA) Clarita Carlos ang Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) sa pagpatay umano ng mga ito sa dalawang sundalo sa Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Ayon ka Carlos, sa kabila ng matagumpay na kampanya ng gobyerno sa “pag-abot ng kapayapaan” sa Visayas nitong mga nakaraang linggo ay nakakalungkot isipin na patuloy parin ang mga karahasan at pagpatay ng mga rebelde sa mga sundalo.

“Despite our successful operations and other commendable milestones in promoting peace during these past few weeks in Visayas, it is both infuriating and saddening to hear these kinds of news,” pahayag ni Carlos na vice chairperson din ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Naniniwala si Carlos na hindi matitigil ang ganitong uri ng karahasan hangga’t hindi natutuldukan ang problema sa insurgency at terrorism sa bansa.

Matatandaang tinambangan at napatay sina Sgt. Regie Glendro at Sgt. Ken Camilam, pawang mga miyembro ng 47th Infantry Battalion (IB) nitong Huwebes sa Barangay Camindangan, Negros Occidental.

Ayon naman kay Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, spokesperson ng Legal Cooperation Cluster of the Regional Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict sa Western Visayas, maituturing na “walang katuturan, hindi makatarungan at gawain ng mga duwag ang ginawang pananambang ng NPA sa mga sundalo.”

“We condemn the CPP-NDF-NPA and the acts of violence that they commit against this nation and against our people,” ani Gonzales.
